🛠️ Technology Support
Need Technology Help?
Please send school technology requests to:
techsupport@rivermill-academy.org
Using the Tech Support email helps keep requests organized, prevents issues from being overlooked, and allows requests to be addressed in the order they are received.
Technology I Can Support
Technology Support includes school-owned:
-
Student laptops and Chromebooks
-
Teacher laptops
-
Classroom technology and SMART Boards
-
Printers
-
School phones
-
Other school-owned technology

🔧 Getting a Technology Repair
Step 1 — Submit a Tech Support Request
Email:
techsupport@rivermill-academy.org
Please include a brief description of the problem and, when applicable, the student's name and laptop number.
Step 2 — Determine How the Repair Will Be Handled
During your planning period:
Teachers may come to Room 121 and supervise my ACC/Virtual students while I go to the classroom and complete the repair.
Please arrange this with me ahead of time so we don't have overlapping repair requests.
After school:
If the issue is not urgent, I may be able to complete the repair after classes have ended.
Urgent Issues
Submit the request to Tech Support and I will contact you to coordinate the best time to address the problem.

💻 High School / 8th Student Laptops
Reporting a Student Laptop Problem
If a student a student has an issue with a laptop, please email:
techsupport@rivermill-academy.org
Do not send students to Room 121 until I specifically call for them.
Include:
-

-
Laptop number, if available
-
Brief description of the problem
🧑🏫 Middle School Laptop Carts
When a laptop is damaged or has a problem:
-
Record the laptop number.
-
Record the problem or damaged area.
-
Return the laptop to its correct numbered location in the cart.
-
Do not move problem laptops between carts or classrooms.
Technology Support will periodically review the repair sheets and work through the reported issues.
🔄 Keep Cart Laptops Updated
Please have students periodically restart the laptops and check for Windows updates.
This is particularly helpful when laptops have remained in carts for extended periods without being restarted.
Regular updates help prevent classroom and testing problems.
❤️ Student Laptop Care
Please reinforce proper laptop care with students throughout the school year.
Use Laptops on a Desk or Table
Laptops should be used on a stable surface and not placed on the floor.
Never Carry a Laptop by the Screen
Students should never pick up or carry a laptop by its screen.
Carry Laptops Carefully
Whenever possible, students should carry laptops using two hands.
Keep Food and Drinks Away
Food and drinks should be kept away from school laptops.
Return Laptops to the Correct Slot
Cart laptops should always be returned to their correct numbered location.
Do not move laptops between carts.
Plug Laptops In
When returning a laptop to a cart, make sure it is properly connected to its charging cable.
🔌 Take Care of Charging Cables
Before closing laptop cart doors:
-
Make sure charging cables are organized.
-
Make sure cables are not hanging outside the cart.
-
Check that cables will not be caught or pinched by the doors.
-
Make sure each laptop is properly connected to its charger.
Pinched charging cables can become damaged and may need to be replaced.

For non-urgent problems, the repair may be completed later in the day or after classes.
